                            The 1899 Painting by Vuilliard

In Vuilliard's 1899 painting you can see were he tryed to use balance when he put small and big objects on the left side of his painting and on the right side. On the left side in the back ground you can see a small table and a vase, and on the right side you see the lady sitting at the table with something in the background. In his painting one principle of design I do see is proportion. You might be able to see this in the color when he uses light colors to dark and big shapes and small shapes. you can also see repetition on the ladies jacket and on the walls thay keep the same shape and colors.

  1. Vuillard is one of my favorite painters, so I especially enjoyed this post. I also agree that repetition in Vuillard's painting is so cool. He makes using all the principles/elements looks so easy, even though it's not. I've loved hearing what you say in all your posts, bravo!
